Hi! I’m SinDe!
Let me introduce myself. I’m SinDe, a 76-year-old retiree who lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
I suppose one could say I’m the neighborhood’s crazy old cat lady. That’s okay. I enjoy my floofs. They keep me going. As I have gotten older and less inclined to stay on a schedule, they are what get me up in the morning and remind me when it’s time to eat. Marsha, the fat old lady of the group, also reminds me when it’s time to go to bed.
I am lucky to have a group of friends who range in age from 73 to 89, with whom I enjoy spending time eating and raising a glass to celebrate another day of being vertical.
As a collective, we considered forming a book club, but, as with any group of old ladies, we could never decide on the book, so we continue at our own pace and choose the books we want. We often gather for brunch, or lunch, or dinner, or just for the hell of it, and raise a glass or two of wine, and laugh out loud. We also live out loud and are commonly and affectionately referred to as the old ladies on the loose.

During my younger working years, I was privileged to travel extensively and enjoyed living in the UK for eight years. Those years informed my current worldviews. I suggest travel for anyone who has the means and the opportunity. It will change your life—for the better. And, if you are unable to travel as extensively as you may wish, READ! Reading is the roadmap to the rest of the world.
Since retirement, I enjoy reading, interviewing authors, and trying my hand at writing. I tinker with learning new languages, though I am best at remembering words and phrases that are better left unspoken by a lady. Old people are like young children in many ways, including picking up the words we shouldn’t before learning the words we should. I also enjoy making chain maille jewelry and dabbling in painting.
I love soccer and am an avid Manchester United (MUFC) fan. I have followed the lads through lean times before there was a Premier League, through the glory days with Sir Alex Ferguson, and through the nightmare of seven managers since Sir Alex retired in 2013. But, I do believe as Thin Lizzy would sing, “The Boys Are Back in Town.”
